Armando Iannucci is a comic writer, performer, satirist, director and producer whose radio and television programmes have been dubbed by The Sunday Times as "Quite simply the funniest programmes to grace the airwaves". 'Mouth' is his first work as a film director.
Armando writes and presents 'The Friday Night Armistice' for BBC 2. He also co-wrote and produced the acclaimed 'The Day Today', 'I'm Alan Partridge' and 'Knowing Me, Knowing You...with Alan Partridge'. In 1997 he presented a three hour live comedy 'Election Night Special' and in 1998 he wrote and directed 'Clinton: His Struggle with Dirt', on the eve of the US mid-term elections.
His programmes have won many awards, including several BAFTA's, a Bronze Rose of Montreaux, and five British Comedy Awards, including a Special Award for his unique contribution to British Television Comedy.
Prior to television, Armando worked for BBC Radio, where he co-wrote and produced 'On The Hour', the celebrated predecessor of 'The Day Today'.
Armando is a regular columnist with The Guardian and writes each week as Alastair Campbell, Tony Blair's Press Secretary, in The Daily Telegraph. He has just toured the country in his one-man show 'Out of His Box' and is working on various new comedy projects for Channel Four.
